The Rockford Area Historical Society promotes a knowledge and appreciation of our local historical heritage among the citizens of Rockford and the surrounding communities through monthly meetings with local history presentations. The Rockford Area Historical Society also manages the Rockford Museum which provides annual tours to school groups and has open hours for visitation for the general public. The Rockford Area Historical Society has a wealth of information in our family an subject files about the Rockford Area. Most of our holdings have been cataloged on the computer for easy searches and retrieval by interested parties. The Rockford Area Historical Society has paid to have the Rockford newspapers microfilmed from the 1800’s to present and this information is available to the public. The Rockford Area Historical Society accepts volunteer members to serve at the museum who appreciate history and wish to preserve and protect the historical artifacts and printed history of the Rockford Michigan Area.
