Shopping TreasuresThere are several distinct shopping areas in and about Rockford. Neighborhood business associations are forming to assist each area to best showcase themselves. The Heart of Rockford Business Association includes the well-known Squires Street Square with many unique shops in landmark buildings, all within easy walking distance of each other. The Rockford East Business Association (REBA) is just east of downtown Rockford, from 10 Mile Road north to 12 Mile Road, featuring many specialty stores, service providers and manufacturing facilities. Other business areas include the Belding Road/Cannonsburg corridor, CedarRock, 10 Mile/131/Belmont and on Northland Drive south of the Grand River. They, too, offer an eclectic variety of goods and services. Dining PleasureFrom the heart of downtown Rockford to outlying favorites within our greater 90+ mile school district, you're sure to find dining options to please every palette. Downtown...Looking for a hand cut steak, fresh fish flown in daily, a truly scratch kitchen, or award winning chef signature dishes, then check out Red’s on the River, voted Best New Restaurant in 2006 and winner of the 2007 Fine Dining award by Grand Rapids Magazine. Reds expansive deck overlooking the Rogue is a popular gathering spot in the summer; and its 8' circular fireplace is a welcoming retreat on cooler days. Rockford is also famous for its hotdogs. Stop into the smoke-free Corner Bar for family favorites, and try and get your name added to the hotdog wall of fame. If you're craving Italian cuisine of wood stove pizzas, Marinade's Pizza Bistro awaits you. Other popular downtown spots include Sam's Joint, Vitales’ of Downtown Rockford, and the Rogue River Tavern. Surrounding hotspots ...Rockford has a number of dining options beyond downtown. A few of our favorites include the award-winning Bostwick Lake Inn on Belding Road, Boulder Creek Golf Club’s restaurant and banquet facilities on Brewer, just north of Cannonsburg Road, Timbers Inn Restaurant & Tavern on Belding Road serving fresh fish, wild game, and choice steaks in a Northern Lodge atmosphere and the Grist Mill in the quaint village of Cannonsburg. Other family-owned favorites include Jody's Restaurant on 10 Mile and Herman's Boy located on Old Northland Drive. In addition to their famous coffee, bagels, pastries, and hand made candies, check out their mouth watering deli sandwiches, smoked meats, and full assortment of cooking and grilling equipment and accessories. For those seeking quick favorites, Fohlbrook’s Subway, McDonalds of Rockford, Arby’s, and Qdoba Mexican Grill await. Yes, Rockford is indeed a delight to your tastes. Come and enjoy. |
