The Rockford School District covers 99 Square Miles and features a Public School System, Parochial Schools and a Charter School.
The public school system consists of a High School, an alternative high school, Freshman Center, two middle schools and eight elementary schools. The Rockford Public School District is fully accredited and state and nationally recognized as a Blue Ribbon District of Excellence. There are two Catholic Schools, Our Lady of Consolation and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, one located in Rockford on 11 Mile Road, and one in Belmont on Belmont Road. Both are kindergarten through eighth grade levels and also have preschool programs. Rockford Christian School is located in the “lakes” area at 6060 Belding Road. It houses preschool through eighth grade. National Heritage Academies has partnered with a voluntary local school board to create Chandler Woods Charter Academy, a no-cost public charter school. The school is located at 6895 Samrick Ave. The school is designed to eliminate the achievement gap and provide a public school choice to your family so your child is prepared for success in high school, college, and beyond.
