The Rockford trail system is second to none. There are not only paved walking trails, but boardwalks and mountain biking trails. All are gorgeous, giving the user the ability to see beautiful scenery and enjoy watching the wildlife.

The granddaddy of them all, the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail, runs along the banks of the Rogue River, directly through the downtown district and travels both north and south to link Rockford to Belmont on the south and Cedar Springs to the north. The rail-to-trail program allows everyone a wonderful way to take a step back in time and travel the same routes as the rail system in its day. Also, Cannon Township boasts more spectacular trails that winds through wetlands and hardwoods.
