On Friday, February 7th the ice sculptures will be placed in the downtown district. There is an Opening Ceremony planned for Friday evening at 6 p.m. with music, entertainment and a ribbon cutting to start the event. New this year ~ the sculptures will be lit. Also, there will be FREE carriage rides in downtown Friday evening from 5:30-8:30 p.m., sponsored by the Rockford Chamber of Commerce, and given by Grand Carriages, LLC.

Each year, picturesque downtown Rockford is transformed into a vision of ice, offering winter wonderland fun for folks of all ages and stages, and this year will be no different. Just imagine…

Should you/ Can you sign up in advance for a carriage ride?

    • No, as far as prior to the evening. But, you can go and put your name in the night of the event and then they will tell you what time to come back at so you can shop, eat and browse downtown until it is your turn and you are not stuck standing in line.
