This will be the 18th year runners will toe the line for Mitchell’s Run thru Rockford. The event is a fundraiser for research for Parents Project MD. It was started by Steve and Sandy Peterson, whose son, Mitchell, was diagnosed with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy in 1999 when he was just a toddler. Mitchell is on hand to inspire the runners each year.
The course is USAT & F certified 5K Run/Walk course starts on the Bridge Street Bridge, loops through downtown, then along Rouge River on White Pine Trail, finishing on historic Squires Street. Accurate splits at each mile and finish times. Medical assistance available.
Mitchell’s Run Thru Rockford will donate 100% of the race fees and pledges raised to Parent Project MD.
