You have to love Rockford, and the people who own the restaurants. People look at our little town and wonder why it is successful – and here is a reason why. Rockford Brewing Company has been a highly anticpated addition to our fair City. The owners have been working hard to get their enterprise off the ground – sure, they have hit a few roadblocks along the way – but the opening date is fast approaching. The owners came up with the idea of a Pub Crawl to introduce their new brews to the area – a taste-testing to whet the appetites of beer drinkers everywhere. They traveled around to the downtown restaurants and asked for their help in launching their idea for a Pub Crawl – and voila – all said yes! Now, if this isn’t proof of the “if you succeed, we all succeed” mentality that makes Rockford the special place it is, I don’t know what is. If you can find time on Wednesday night – from 5 p.m. on to close, take a trip to these fine, supportive restaurants, take a taste of the RBC beer they are highlighting, have a nice bite of food from the restaurant that is supporting this Pub Crawl, and enjoy being a part of what makes Rockford special. Participating restaurants: Reds on the River, Corner Bar, Rogue River Tavern, Grill One-11, Rockford Lanes Pub and Sam’s Joint.
